Campos Arraigned After Grand Jury Indictment

Pleads Not Guilty On Murder Charge

UTICA, NY - Jorge Campos, 19, of Utica, pleaded not guilty in Oneida County Court Friday morning to a charge of Second Degree Murder. Campos was indicted by an Oneida County Grand Jury, charged with shooting and killing Stefan Medina, 17 of Utica, last summer. The shooting took place on Elizabeth Street in East Utica.


Campos held back tears as he appeared before Oneida County Judge Michael Dwyer. He had already been charged with criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm and several drug charges, all stemming from the same incident. Campos will return to County Court next Wednesday. He was returned to the Oneida County Jail.
