Businesses like gyms, indoor malls and movie theaters still cannot open. Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon and other assembly members collaborated to send Governor Andrew Cuomo’s office a letter to explain the importance of looking at the businesses plans to re-open.
“We’ve heard from many business owners of small gyms and facilities of wellness. They created plans, obviously in the business to ensure that people remain healthy.” —Buttenschon
The letter outlines specific precautions the businesses will take to slow the spread of the virus.
“Ensure social distancing, looking at the importance of wearing masks when they’re inside, as well as the spacing, the cleaning down of the equipment through different classes. Every step in precaution that they took and felt confident with, unfortunately is something that they don’t even have the opportunity. As we move into our winter months where individuals will be inside, this is the best time for them to be able to work out possibly those challenges that they’re seeing within these processes.”—Buttenschon
