UTICA–After backing Joseph Marino for Utica mayor in the democratic primary, Congressman Anthony Brindisi has endorsed incumbent Mayor Robert Palmieri’s re-election bid.
Brindisi told Eyewitness News on Friday he will support fellow Democrat Palmieri in the general election.
The 22nd Congressional District representative backed Marino leading up to the June Democratic primary, which Marino lost to Palmieri.
Marino, an employee at Brindisi’s law firm in Utica, is running as an independent for mayor.
Matt Arcuri is the mayoral Republican candidate.
