Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri and Alex Carbone today held a ground breaking
ceremony for the new Fitness Mill in Utica.
The state-of-the-art facility will be located at 1532 Oriskany Street West, a parcel
of land previously owned the City of Utica’s Urban Renewal Agency (URA).
The URA sold the five acres of land to Carbone Commercial Property LLC in
February 2020 for $400,000. The vacant building that previously housed an indoor
auto parts storage facility was demolished by the City prior to the sale.
“The mayor and I took a nice trip around the city and we went north, south, east and west. This was actually the last one that we had landed on and just fell in love with it and the vision was there for both of us. The city has been great to work with, everybody has been very supportive.” —Alex Carbone, Owner of The Fitness Mill
Businesses that will be a part of the new building is Blend, Peter’s Cornucopia, Bri and Key’s Busy Bees Daycare, Gentleman’s Corner Barbershop, Kingwater Chiropractic, Barks on the Boulevard and Branded Screen Printing.
