A two car head on crash in the Town of Boonville Saturday night took the life of one man and injured three others. Route 12 was closed for several hours between Alder Creek and the Village of Boonville.
The crash occurred around 7:30PM Saturday. New York State Police say that a car was southbound on Route 12 and attempted to pass another southbound vehicle. Kakwan Marshall, 22 years old, from Liverpool, NY, pulled the car he was driving into the northbound lane and hit another vehicle going in the opposite direction. Cary Croniser, 42 years old, from Boonville, was a passenger in the northbound car that was hit. Crosier was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the northbound car, 38 year old Sarah Stinebrickner of Boonville, was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Utica and is reported to be in critical condition. Marshal and a teen age passenger in his car were also taken to St. Elizabeth. Marshal had sustained serious injuries. The injuries to the teenager are believed to be non-life threatening.
The State Police are continuing the investigation.
