Police have pulled a body from a canal near Oneida Lake in Sylvan Beach.  Eyewitness News reporter Nicole Todd is here with the latest on this developing story, Nicole?

The call came in shortly before 5 p-m. And about three hours later, rescuers pulled the body out of the water.

Bystanders tell us that the 22-year old male was fishing in the canal.  And he had dropped his tackle box in the water.  He did retrieve the box, but we’re told he never made it out of the water.  Emergency crews including, Environmental Conservation Police, State Troopers and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office were there and diving teams.

State Police have been investigating the incident.  They have not released any information and haven’t gotten back to us to comment.
