The Educational Resource students at BOCES spent class timeoutside today painting fire hydrants in the City of Utica.
The city provided the supplies and handful of students puttheir painting skills to the test.
The Educational Resource Director at BOCES, Theresa Mottsays re-painting the hydrants really makes a difference.
“They see people working and helping. Things lookbetter. It makes them feel better about the place they live. People do starttreating people differently. It makes it a better place,” said Theresa Mott,the Educational Resource Director at BOCES.
The City of Utica has over 1,600 fire hydrants. The citysays they’re always looking for volunteers throughout the year to paint.
