UTICA N.Y. (WUTR-TV) — Bank of Utica has completed its final renovations to their historical building at 222 Genesee Street. For over 5 years, the bank undertook a top to bottom full scale renovation of their entire premises.
Wherever possible the bank preserved its historical features and brought back to life elements original to the building include exposing the elevator caging, revealing barrel-arch ceilings, restoring the mosaic tile floor and refurbishing the iconic lobby staircase.
In places where parts of the bank complex were beyond repair, new structures were built. A tower was added to the building that includes 4 hi-definition screens facing each side of the City that usually has a clock displayed on it, but also has the ability to show graphic and video content. This was put on to honor Utica’s past when a clock tower rose over the City directly adjacent to Bank of Utica at the old City Hall building.
