UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY)- A committee of about 20 people in the NYS Assembly is currently investigating the sexual harassment allegations of New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo. The assembly had over 200 individuals come forward.
“With the report that came out today, we will meet as a conference to determine next steps. Clearly there are state and federal laws that have been violated and to expedite it without jeopardizing each individual that deserves to speak that has come forward to the assembly.” – Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon
Based on the sexual harassment accusations, if the assembly finds that Cuomo should be impeached, the next step will be to go to the senate. Buttenschon says she called for Cuomo’s impeachment since march on two other issues.
“We have an issue regarding state resources being used to prepare the book that was written by the gov. as well as the deaths in our nursing homes. So we want to make sure those stay in focus with the discussions that we have to continue.”
Buttenschon says as things move forward, she hopes the individuals who have accused the governor of sexual harassment can find closure and move forward with their careers
