UTICA, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY-TV) – The NYS and Utica Police Departments have made another gun related arrested today in Utica.
On August 16th, Officers received a report that a man on parole was in possession of a gun at Oneida Square in Utica. Officers located a vehicle that allegedly was involved in the incident and conducted a vehicle stop.
During the subsequent search of the vehicle and its occupants, officers were noticed a loaded handgun wedged between the front seat and center console where the Parolee was sitting. This was enough evidence to take the man into custody for further investigation.
30-year-old Todd Thompson of Utica has been arrested on the following charges:
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree
- Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree
- Criminal Possession of a Firearm
Thompson is expected to have more charges handed down by the Parole and Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
