Anderson sentenced to life without parole

The 25-year-old Utica man was sentenced to life without parole for the murder of his 68-year-old grandmother, Freddie McKinney, back in January.

Andre Anderson was found guilty this past October for stabbing and killing his grandmother and lighting her apartment on fire. He was found guilty on two counts of first-degree murder, one count of arson in the first-degree, and one count of arson in the second-degree.

“It wasn’t intentional, I want to apologize to the court,” Anderson stated prior to sentencing.
