Absentees Increase Palmieri Lead In Utica Mayor Race

The count of the 698 absentee ballots cast in last week’s Utica Mayoral Election has given incumbent Robert Palmieri a greater lead over Independence Party candidate Joseph Marino. The absentee break down is:

Robert Palmieri (D) 413 Joseph Marino (I) 182 Matt Arcuri (R) 103

The General Election vote results from Tuesday, November 5th gave Palmieri a lead of only 237 votes over Marino. Here is the way the votes add up when the absentees are included:

Robert Palmieri (D) 4,711 Joseph Marino (I) 4,243 Matt Arcuri (R) 964

Affidavit ballots are now being tallied by the Oneida County Board of Election. It would be unlikely that there are enough of those ballots to change the results.
