Accelerate Sports was uncharacteristically busy for a lazy Tuesday afternoon. There were no games or practices scheduled, but yet a large group had still amassed on the soccer field. In front of a white canvas a podium had been set up, decorated with a manikin on either side.
Up until today Utica’s PGCBL team was named the Brewers. However, that was about to change. In front of the group that had amassed team advisor Peter Faughnan announced, the squad inside Murnane Field would now be called the Utica Blue Sox.
That wasn’t the only change. The new team also decided to go digital. Fans who can not make it the home games can now hear the action at Mid-York Sports Report. Ray Biggs was announced as the new voice of the team.
