21-year-old shot in the leg on Roberts Street in Utica

UTICA N.Y. (WUTR-TV) — On Wednesday evening, around 8:30 p.m. Utica Police Units were dispatched to the 700 block of Roberts St regarding a shots fired investigation. 21-year-old Daryun Prescod of Utica had been struck once in the leg from the gunfire.

Prescod was transported to a local hospital by the Utica Fire Department where he underwent emergency care. Police say his injuries are not considered life threatening.

At this time there is no suspect information and the investigation is on-going. The Utica Police Department and the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office are working to see if this incident is connected to the Whitestown homicide.
