CENTRAL, N.Y. (WUTR-TV)—The 2021 National Puppy Day Contest was a “Pawsome” success!
Meet our winners Callie and Kirsten! Callie is a 2-year-old beagle named after a character on Grey’s anatomy, is very energetic, and loves attention and snuggles!
In 2018, Kirsten was scrolling Facebook and happened to see a post from someone that wanted to rehome Calli. They simply didn’t have enough time to care for her. Without hesitation, Kirsten says she reached out to the owner.
“That evening, I went and picked up my best friend! She came with a handful of health issues that we quickly got addressed so she can live her best life.” – Kirsten
They have been together ever since. Kirsten says that some of Callie’s favorite past times are playing with her sister beagles Kenzie and Katie, sunbathing, playing with her favorite hedgehog toy, snuggling up under blankets and napping.
Most importantly of all, eating! Her favorite snacks are blueberries, carrots, and sweet potatoes. She can perform multiple tricks including dancing, waiting, sitting (which has been a work in progress and anyone with a beagle will know lol)

Kirsten says that Callie has made the past year much easier to deal with and is the “best companion anyone could ask for!”
