Tenney, Teachout and Faso Get Primary Wins

In the 22nd race, State Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney was an easy winner in a three way race. Tenney, who is from New Hartford and the only elected official in the race, defeated Cazenovia area businessman Steve Wells and one time Broome County Legislator George Phillips. Tenney had 8,869 votes to Wells 7,195 tally and Phillips vote total of 5,308.

Tenney will face Democratic candidate Kim Myers, a member of the Broome County Legislator, and Reform Party candidate Martin Babinec of Little Falls.

On the GOP side of the 19th District race, former assemblyman John Faso easily outdistanced businessman Andrew Heaney by a 2 to 1 margin. The results on the Democratic side was even greater as college professor Zephyr Teachout grabbed almost 75% of the votes cast against farmer Will Yankdik.
