OTSEGO, COUNTY, N.Y. (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – The Otsego County Department of health has reported their COVID-19 number for today.

55 new cases of COVID 19 have been reported today. An additional 22 cases were also reported today dating from November 18-28th. These additional cases are in a nursing home and were not previously reported to the health department.

Cases reported today:

  • Active cases 267
  • Hospitalized 8
  • Deaths 2

New cases reported per day continues to be high and is increasing steadily. It is important to remember to stay home if you are sick, wear a mask in public and get vaccinated if you are eligible. Otsego County remains at a HIGH level of community transmission.

CDC & Otsego County Department of Health recommend everyone (even those who are fully vaccinated) wear a mask indoors in public if you are in an area of substantial or high transmission, to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others.

Other protection measures such as handwashing & social distancing are still effective measures to reduce the likelihood of contracting the virus.
