Governor Andrew Cuomo announced during a press conference Thursday afternoon that all events over 500 people have been banned.
This advancement comes as the number of positive coronavirus cases in New York have risen to 328 — the second-highest, only trailing Washington with 378 cases (as of Thursday). California is the only other state with a triple-digit amount of cases.
The ban starts Friday, March 13th. at 5 p.m., and it applies across the state of New York. For facilities with an occupancy of 500 or fewer, the legal capacity will be reduced to 50 percent of its standard amount.
