The Utica Zombie Walk is an all-age, free event that allows participants to act out a simulated zombie invasion while also benefiting selected local charities. The cost of registration is free, but participants are asked to bring one non-perishable pet or human food item to the Zombie Walk whether you register online or just participate in the walk. Spectators are also encouraged to bring a food item. This year's charities are the Food Bank of Central New York and the Stevens-Swan Humane Society of Oneida County.
At the Stanley, in addition to the Zombie Walk and food drive, there will be live music from the glam rock band "Wicked," the premiere of the short film Zombies in Utica 2, and more.
The food drive, makeup and preparation of the zombie horde begins at 5 p.m. at the Stanley's lobby and makeup room.
The Zombie Walk begins at 7 p.m. sharp. Participants will walk down Genesee Street, which will be closed off for a portion of the route. Be sure your costume allows you to see and walk comfortably. No realistic guns or dangerous weapons will be permitted.
For those 21 and older, a fully-themed zombie dance party begins at 9pm at the Dev on Devereux Street, around the corner from the Stanley. Cost of admission is $5. A portion of the ticket sales will be donated to this year's selected charities.
By registering online, you will secure a reservation for zombie makeup from our professional staff of makeup artists. If you do not register online, makeup will be done on a space-available basis, only after all registered people have been done. Only 150 online registrations will be accepted. All persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult to get makeup applied.
If registering for more than one person in your party, please list their names and ages.
