Houston (WSYR-TV) - The Syracuse football team arrived in Houston on Monday and they wasted no time diving right into what Texas is all about.

The team was able to fit in a little fun before starting practice at Rice University on Tuesday.

With only one Texas-native on its roster, the Orange really needed to channel their inner-cowboy at the “Rodeo Bowl.”

SU didn't have to wait until Friday to face-off with Minnesota as both teams drove about 30 miles west of Houston to George Ranch Historical Park.

The two teams went head-to-head in 7 competitions ranging from a line dance-off to a hay bale toss.

SU unseated the Golden Gophers as the defending champs.

Since its inception, the winner of the Rodeo Bowl is 5-1 in the Texas Bowl.
