Every Thanksgiving, the Rome Rescue Mission serves a traditional turkey dinner to about 400 people who would otherwise go without. And they do it all through donations, cooking around forty turkeys, which is why they need your help to keep it going. The mission is collecting stuffing, potatoes, turkeys, or monetary donations at its Dominick Street location.
"We all have memories of what our childhood was like and I remember so clearly to waking up to the smell of turkey and my parents cooking the meal, well the folks here don't have that, the children don't have that," said Matt Miller.
Edible Arrangements of Rome will be giving a portion of their sales to the mission beginning in mid-November.
