Health experts estimate that 1 out of 88 children are affected by Autism and the Utica community is not excluded. Redeemer Church in Utica is hosting a comedy show benefit to raise money for a brand new facility.
Comedian Jim Breuer, a former member of the Saturday Night Live cast, will be performing at the church. The money raised will go towards building a state-of-the-art facility for those with Autism and special needs.
The church Pastor says the new facility will be a place where those dealing with autism can feel welcome.
"Every service that we have it'll be available for the kids to go down and you know, receive teaching and just a great environment while the parents come to church, just enjoy themselves there and enjoy the community,” says Pastor Michael Servello.
The Pastor says construction of the new facility will begin after the necessary funds are raised. The comedy show is October 11th at 7 pm at Redeemer Church on Herkimer road. Tickets are on sale now beginning at $20.
