Only a few days from Veterans Day, the Parkway Senior Center held a tribute luncheon for local vets.

A dramatic flag ceremony symbolized the true spirit of the holiday.

Veterans say the event is a special way to honor those who have served and died for our country.

We're paying tribute to all the men and women who wore the uniform regardless of whether they were in combat or not.

We served and its very important. I feel very honored to be remembered, Veteran Dan Evans
said.

"I love it, I'm a veteran. We got all veterans back here. Some of them are still wearing they're uniforms. I was in the army for two
years. We enjoy this, Veteran Frank Chiffy said.

One vet even showed his patriotism at the event through a musical performance.

It was clear-the veterans were proud to have served our
nation.

I think it brings out to everybody a sense of pride and a
sense of love of country, Chiffy said.

Proud to be an American! said Evans.
