Hometown Hero Thomas Krull

<font size="2">Thomas Krull lives in the Town of Ohio, New York. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1982. After training in Texas, he was assigned to the 416th Security Police Squadron in Rome, New York. <p>In the late 80s, Staff Sergeant Krull was sent to Panama, to help find the notorious Manuel Noriega. One thing he'll never forget is when he took the initiative to handle a suspected bomb suitcase. Although it turned out not to be a bomb, Sergeant Krull was recognized for bravery and would come to earn many medals thereafter. He would also return to Central New York to train others at Griffiss Air Force Base and spend the early 90s on assignment in South Korea.</p> <p>Tom is the son of Diane and the late Howard Krull.
