Dr. Michael Attilio joined the Army in 2005, while attending medical school in Philadelphia. After graduating, Mike was assigned to Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. There, he and his wife welcomed their first baby girl. While enrolled at Tripler Army Medical Center, Mike also took part in medical training missions in Mongolia. After graduating from residency training in Hawaii, Mike and his family moved to Fort Hood, Texas. In May of 2009, he was deployed to Afghanistan with the 1st Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment. While in Afghanistan, Mike and his fellow medics provided care for U.S., Coalition, and Afghan forces, and Afghan civilians injured on the battlefield. Following his 12 month deployment, Mike returned to Fort Hood, meeting his second daughter for the very first time. After spending six years on active duty, Mike left the military in 2011 and moved to Whitesboro. He currently works for Faxton-St.Luke's Healthcare as a family physician and also serves as medical director for Adirondack Community Physicians. In his spare time, Mike enjoys working out at CrossFit, obstacle course races, and skiing.
