Hometown Hero Joseph Manwarren

<font size="2">Gunny Sergeant Joseph Manwarren is originally from Sherburn, NY. <p>He is the son of Kathy Hobart of Chadwicks and Ivan Manwarren of Norwich. He has two sisters - Rebecca and Leeann.</p> <p>He's married to his wife Shirley, and they are the proud parents of 6-year old Wyatt.</p> <p>After Joseph graduated from Sherburn Earlville High School, he enlisted in the Marines in 1996. He was trained at Camp Lajune before being sent to Afghanistan. His second tour of duty was in Iraq. </p> <p>While serving there - his Humvee was hit by an I-E-D. Sergeant Manwarren was on guns. The explosion blew the vehicle over, killing his Iraqi interterpreters and injuring Segrant Manwarren. He earned the Purple Heart for his wounds in that attack.</p> <p>As he continues to serve his country, he's now stationed at Fort Fill, Oklahoma.</p> <p>Gunny Sergeant Joseph Manwarren, Eyewitness News thanks you for your distinguished service, and we proudly salute you as our Hometown Hero. </p></font>
