The son of Stanley and Lillian Postol joined the U.S. Army in 1970. </p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">During his six years of service to his country, Jim trained in South Carolina, was stationed at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, and served in the Vietnam Conflict. During his time in Vietnam, he served with the Armored Reconnaissance in the Second of the First Cavalry.</p><p style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;">In 1974, Jim married Joyce Rickard.
