Greg Lewis is a Central New York native, currently pursuing a career in law enforcement at the University of Mississippi, and has experienced quite a lot serving our country in a short amount of time. Born in Utica in 1990, Lewis calls New Hartford home when not in school. Lewis served in the US Marine Corps from 2008 to 2012. While deployed to Afghanistan, Lewis was helping two fellow marines that were pinned down under heavy gunfire. They escaped unharmed, but Lewis was shot twice. He says despite the injuries, he would protect his fellow marines again in heartbeat. Lewis has been awarded a Purple Heart, and a Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal. Now hoping to one day become a police officer, and follow in the public service footsteps of his father, who is a firefighter in Utica, Lewis enjoys many outdoor activities like hunting and fishing, and running in the Annual Boilermaker Road Race.
