Women Battling Cancer Get Emotional Boost

Women in Utica who are battling cancer now have a program aimed to make them look better, so that they can feel better.

Women who are battling cancer are getting an emotional boost.

Look good feel better is a national public service program through the American Cancer Society that supports women with cancer.  The program supplies women with donated wigs and bandanas.  Also, make-up tutorials and tips for looking your best.

One woman in the program says it gives her peace of mind.

"The unknowns are very difficult to deal with, so I've done a lot of research, asked a lot of questions, reached out to people who have been through this before for guidance and everybody is very forth coming and supportive and that’s what this class today has been wonderful. It tries to keep your spirits up and prepares you for the future and you can get alot of questions answered,” said Karen Newton.

This comes as relay for life events are in full swing in the Mohawk valley. Catch it all on the relay remind show on Wednesday at Seven.
