Utica State of the City Address

Mayor Robert Palmieri gave his first State of the City report today. He highlighted economic growth the city's seen in the past year with several business openings and the announcement of Nano-Utica. He also pointed out the financial strides the city's made. When Palmieri took office there was a deficit--now a modest surplus. But Palmieri says Utica still has a long ways to grow.
"We have broken ground where people say you'll never be there, we have cut ribbons and created jobs, and created jobs, and created jobs. That's the only way that this city or any other city is going to grow," said Mayor Robert Palmieri.
The city budget--that Palmieri says will include cuts and consolidations--will be announced next week.
