Earlier this week Andre's mother asked for a face-to-face meeting with Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri. Last night on Eyewitness News you heard the mayor say he would not meet with Andre's mom due to the on- going police investigation in the case. Today the mayor reversing course. Mayor Palmieri paying a visit to the Believers Miracle Deliverance Ministries just a little more than a hour ago. The mayor chatted privately with family members at Andre's wake, clearly offering comfort and condolences. The mayor saying only that out of respect for the family he would have no other comment. Andre's wake is continuing until 8-o-clock tonight. The 23-year-old's funeral will be held at the same church - Believers Miracle Deliverance Ministries tomorrow. It's located on Eagle Street. That service is set for 2pm tomorrow afternoon. Police telling Eyewitness News tonight they are continuing to try to figure out exactly what happened the night Andre died. And they say the investigation isn't an easy one. According to our sources in the Utica PD the case especially difficult - with a lack of people stepping forward to provide information. In a series of interviews with Eyewitness News those sources indicating both - individually and collectively - that a culture of "no-snitching" is hampering the investigation just as it has hampered others in the past. Today no new details emerging on the course of the investigation. Police have promised they will keep us posted and we will do the same for you.
