Utica Legends Team Up for Concert

Both are Utica legends of sorts - and on Friday an announcement that they're joining forces.

Both are Utica legends of sorts - and on Friday an announcement that they're joining forces.

On the Saturday before the Boilermaker--July 12th--there will be a concert at the Stanley.  The local band Classified will reunite and join with the Utica Pops Orchestra.

The concert will begin at 6 p.m. and organizers say it will allow runners to get a good night’s sleep before the race while enjoying some great entrainment while waiting to get ready to run.

“It’s an opportunity for when runners come into town and say, 'What's there to do?'  Well, we're going to be offering them something that's fun, it's relatively inexpensive and you can get to bed early so that you're ready on the following Sunday," says Tim Reed, Boilermaker, executive director.

Tickets will go on sale on May 12 for $15.  Runners and active military receive discounts.
