The unofficial end of summer is week from Monday but for some college students, Monday is their last day to soak up the sun.
Utica College begins classes on Tuesday and that has everyone on campus putting those last minute preparations in place for yet another year of learning.
Move-in day has come and gone and students at Utica College are settled in, which only means one thing: it's time for classes to begin.
“I am excited to start back school and get everything going,” says Zack Stevenson, freshman.
“Both excited and a little nervous at the same time, definitely. I don't know, I think I’m definitely ready for it but there's a little bit of nervousness underneath I think,” says Sarrita Derucher, senior.
But the 4,000 students enrolled at UC aren't the only ones on campus frantically preparing, the book store is racking up transactions.
“It's a great time. You know, we spend all summer getting ready for this. It's a little lonely sometimes in the store but we always like to see the students come back,” says Ken Palmer, book store.
Even though it's busy almost everywhere on campus one department is settling in for a few weeks of QT. Reaching their goal of 515-person freshman class, once classes begin, the admissions office is all about next year.
“It actually quiets down this time of year for us so for the next two weeks maybe into the middle of September and then after that it's crazy all over again,” says Donna Shaffner, Admissions Office.
But whether you're waiting in a long line or enjoying a little break, everyone on campus is preparing to put another year in the books.
