Three players now a part of the 2014 Baseball Hall of Fame class.

A look at the careers of the three players who will be enshrined in Cooperstown this July.
TODAY WAS THE DAY BASEBALL FANS, THE VILLAGE OF COOPERSTOWN AND THE 36 FORMER MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYERS ON THE HALL OF FAME BALLOT HAD BEEN WAITING FOR. AFTER A 2013 CEREMONY VOID OF LIVING INDUCTEES, IT WAS ANNOUNCED JUST HOURS AGO THAT THREE PLAYERS WILL BE JOINING MANAGERS JOE TORRE, TONY LARUSSA AND BOBBY COX THIS SUMMER FOR ENSHRINEMENT IN THE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME.

"THE WRITERS ELECTED THREE DESERVING CANDIDATES, MEANING ON JULY 27TH IN COOPERSTOWN, WE WILL HAVE SIX LIVING INDUCTEES FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 1971.

IN JULY THREE NEW PLAYERS WILL HAVE THEIR PLAQUES ADDED TO THE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME.
ALL THREE FIRST TIMERS ON THE BALLOT, ALL OF THEM SUPERSTARS IN THEIR TIME.

GREG MADDUX, THE CONTROL ARTIST BEST KNOWN FOR HIS DAYS LEADING A TALENTED ATLANTA BRAVES PITCHING STAFF, WILL LEAD THIS TRIO IN COOPERSTOWN, HAVING RECEIVED 97.2 PERCENT OF THE VOTE.
MADDUX IS 8TH ALL-TIME IN WINS WITH 355, IS THE ALL-TIME LEADER IN GOLD GLOVE AWARDS WITH 18 AND WON FOUR CY YOUNG AWARDS DURING HIS 23 YEAR CAREER.

AFTER SPENDING 10 SEASONS TOGETHER PITCHING IN ATLANTA, GRED MADDUX AND TOM GLAVINE WILL BE TOGETHER AGAIN IN COOPERSTOWN THIS JULY.
GLAVINE'S CHECKS IN WITH 305 CAREER WINS, 2 CY YOUNG AWARDS AND WAS A 10 TIME ALL-STAR.

THE BIG HURT, FRANK THOMAS WON BACK TO BACK MVP AWARDS, HAD A .301 LIFETIME BATTING AVERAGE AND TIED TED WILLIAMS AND WILLIE MCCOVEY WITH 521 CAREER HOME RUNS.

THREE PLAYERS, WITH A COMBINED 64 YEARS OF PLAYING IN THE BIG LEAGUES WILL HAVE THEIR CAREERS IMMORTALIZED THIS SUMMER IN THE VILLAGE OF COOPERSTOWN AND THE HALLOWED HALLS OF THE BASEBALL HALL OF FAME.

CRAIG BIGGIO, THE SCRAPPY LONGTIME HOUSTON ASTROS PLAYER MISSED THE ENSHRINEMENT BY JUST TWO VOTES, RECEIVING 74.8 OF THE NECESSARY 75 PERCENT. AND FOR METS AND YANKEES FANS, MIKE PIAZZA CAME IN AT 62 PERCENT, ROGER CLEMENS AT 35 PERCENT AND MIKE MUSSINA WITH JUST OVER 20 PERCENT. ALL WILL BE BACK ON THE BALLOT AGAIN NEXT YEAR.
