Sending Love to Troops

Valentine's Day is a little over a week away. And some soldiers overseas will get some love from home.
Valentine's Day is a little over a week away. And some soldiers overseas will get some love from home.

Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi visited a third grade class today at Bellamy Elementary School. He helped organize Operation: Valentine's Day.

Students in Miss Mason's class decorated cards with messages of thanks and appreciation for soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. Miss Mason says decorating the cards helped her students understand what soldiers do and the importance of thanking them.

"It was such a wonderful opportunity. They really got to talk about our troops overseas and describe even what they do for us," says Shelby Mason, teacher.

The students said they hope in a few months they will get a response from the troops.
