Partying in the Park on the Fourth of July

Fireworks, bouncy houses, BBQ, and red white and blue. Proctor Park was full of all of it all on Friday.

Fireworks, bouncy houses, BBQ, and red white and blue.  Proctor Park was full of all of it all on Friday.

There was music and of course a lot of fun.  Many from Utica and beyond gathered in Proctor Park for the Party in the Park celebration to celebrate Independence Day.

“We came out to celebrate the Fourth of July.  You know all of the people that died just so we could have freedom and that's what it's about,” says Christoper Salo, of Utica.

“People are coming out with their families and spending time together on the wonderful day with friends and family and it's just wonderful,” says Hannah Salo, of Utica.

And even though some come to enjoy the fireworks or the live music...some say they plan to dance the night away.

“We like to dance. And just to celebrate.  It keeps us young.”

But overall it seemed like the overwhelming majority of people went to proctor park tonight for one reason...

"Because I like fireworks."

"Fireworks."

"Fireworks.  Fireworks. And fireworks."
