NY Native Recovering After Fort Hood Shooting

Another New Yorker recovering tonight. Longtime friends of a US Army Major injured in the Fort Hood shooting expect him to make a full recovery.
Another New Yorker recovering tonight. Longtime friends of a US Army Major injured in the Fort Hood shooting expect him to make a full recovery. Patrick Miller is from Allegany. That's is Western New York south of Buffalo.
As Patrick Miller's childhood friends filed into the Allegany Baptist Church, they mostly had the same things to say. Pat's one of the best guys I've ever known. Just trying to get the community together, to be there for Pat, to let him know that even though we're far away, we're thinking about him. Friends tell us that Miller's two surgeries were both successful. and that he's now recovering with his wife by his side. Miller graduated from St. Bonaventure more than a decade ago after growing up in Allegany and attending Allegany-Limestone High School. But even though he's been gone from Western New York, he's kept in constant touch with his old buddies. Miller's mother has been asking for prayers...and she appreciates them. Miller is also still well-known at his old university: where he represented a lot of things: a friend, a family member, a colleague in arms, a brother.
