It’s finally the time of year where going outside without a jacket won’t end with someone getting frostbite and that is something we can all enjoy.
For many, the beautiful seventy degree weather brings the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors for the first time this year.
"It was the great day of the summer so far, so we're like, let’s get out and enjoy this, you know. Can’t beat it, just went golfing earlier today and wanted to end the night off good," said Myles Macey.
"It’s nice to be able to relax and enjoy the company of others and it sound cliche, but its just a fresher experience to be outdoors in this kind of weather," said James Ellington.
The manager of Aqua Vino along the barge canal says this is the first day of people eating outside.
"All of a sudden around eleven thirty people started comin down and asking if they can eat outside and of course we had the umbrellas up and we were really, really excited, because it’s been a long awaited spring," said Beverly Esche.
She even notices a big difference in the people eating at the restaurant.
“We just notice that when people come down they're happy. They don’t feel sometimes like they're in New York, in Utica New York and they love being outside," said Esche.
For many, they're just glad they don’t have to worry about freezing temperatures.
"You don’t forget about the winter, I don’t think. You definitely learn to embrace the summers. I think everyone does in upstate New York," said Macey.
With more beautiful weather on the horizon restaurant owners say they will start to see a lot more people wanting to eat outside.
