Nano Tech Park Gets OK For Next Phase

Nano Utica is moving forward thanks to a long awaited permit.

The next phase of the nano Utica project is moving forward. The US Army Corp of Engineers issued a permit for the Marcy nano-center site.

We're tracking this developing story.  The long-awaited permit for the Marcy site paves the way for the construction of a multi-billion-dollar computer chip manufacturing plant. This, as quad-c at SUNYIT nears completion.  It all began in October of last year, when governor Cuomo announced the 'nano utica' initiative, a one-point- five-billion-dollar public- private partnership.  Quad-c alone expects to employ 1,500 people, and this new site will build on that with thousands of more job openings.

Mohawk valley edge has filed an application with the town of Marcy planning board to secure final site plan approval.
