Local Woman Holds Bra Drive

It’s an incredible story about a local woman who set out on a "bra mission." Loretta Moccaldi has been collecting bras for women in need since January. She says she was hoping for a few hundred but has packed away over a thousand.
It’s an incredible story about a local woman who set out on a "bra mission." Loretta Moccaldi has been collecting bras for women in need since January. She says she was hoping for a few hundred but has packed away over a thousand.
She will be distributing them tomorrow at the American Legion Post on Herkimer Road. The bras are free for women in the area in need. Moccaldi says the community support has far exceeded her expectations.
"I wished maybe a couple of hundred but it just kept getting more and more so that now I had to tell people I can't take anymore, my house is wall to wall bras,” says Moccoldi.
The bra drive is in memory of Moccaldi's late sister. She was a Franciscan nun who had several breast surgeries. Moccaldi says she knows she would have loved to participate in the bra drive.
