Kitt is back in action ready to put out fires and take down bad guys. You may remember the knight industries 2000 from the '80s hit show, "Knight Rider."
"it's just one of those nostalgic things," smiled Joe Fiduccia of Effort.
Joe and his wife built a replica at their home in effort, Monroe County. They came up with the idea to build their own after visiting a car show.
He explained, "It was a show we both loved, something we both enjoyed watching and it's not a car that you see all the time."
It took several years to install the gadgets and electronics. Their five-year-old son Ryan even helped.
He said he likes the rocket launcher best "Because it shoots super duper far."
The couple realized everywhere they took the car got a lot of attention. So they decided to follow that line often quoted in the show;
"One man can make a difference." Fiduccia said, "We wanted to use it for good and not let it sit in the garage."
The Fiduccias now bring the car to parades and special charity events at no charge.
"You get grown adults who will sit inside here and it will bring back such great memories for them in an instant," smiled Fiduccia. "It's a really gratifying feeling to be able to bring that smile to their face."
The Fiduccia family continues Kitt's legacy of helping the community.
