Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is playing at the Stanley on February 26th and 27th before going on a nationwide tour.
Today, we got a chance to catch-up with the stars of and former contestant’s Ace Young and Diana DeGarmo.
"We walked out and all of us were like 'wow,'” said Diana DeGarmo.
That’s what they did when walking out on stage at the Stanley.
Which they say is what makes it a special place to perform.
"The show can kind of go anywhere, but man it looks awfully pretty here," said DeGarmo.
For Ace and Diana their success started on American Idol and it hasn’t stopped since.
"When you get that ticket to go to Hollywood its feels like anything is possible," said DeGarmo.
They say their success is also about whom they surround themselves with.
"You have to be around people who are striving for great things to understand how to strive yourself. And if you don’t know how to set the goal you'll never know how to achieve it," said Ace Young.
That is what they hope people take away from their performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.
"If you're here in Utica and you just come see the show. Ten years from now you may be headlining a show on Broadway because it planted that seed," said Young.
That’s all they want to do.
"We hope that this show inspires people to love theatre, love the Stanley, and love Utica. Bring some more folks downtown. Inspire us the same way we've been inspired our whole lives," said Young and Degarmo.
