An Indian High School football team is using sensor technology on the football field. It's all to detect when a player is hit too hard... That way, it's easier to diagnose and treat concussions. This comes as coaches and parents become more aware of the dangers of hard-hitting sports. Two weeks ago... during the Grange Insurance North-South All Star game every player's helmet had a sensor. Westfield graduate and former quarterback Nick Ferrer is one of the few Indiana High School football players who has ever worn one. The technology has limits ... the sensors blink after a hard impact, but don't give details on how forceful the hit was. Which is why Coach Gilbert says the priority will still be on playing smart ...and safe.
