Fun in the Snow

While some had work, a group of boys spend their snow day building a snow fort. Some decided to check out slopes and spend their afternoon sledding.

"I said let's go to Gibson Road because there's a lot of snow and it would be perfect for today," says Shaina Maine, of Whitesboro.

And that's exactly what Shaina and her friend Sadie did, along with a few others. Most schools in the area closed for the day and some students didn't miss the opportunity to play in this winter wonderland.

"We're making a fort like in the army so if our friends want play with us we can just hide in here.”

And some just had to get out before they got a bad case of cabin fever.
"I didn't want to be stuck in the house all day just doing stuff," says Addyson Merrite, of Whitesboro.

But all in all, local students couldn't be happier with a day off from school.

"We were so happy. I was excited."

Although they did have off from school some of them said that they're ready for this white stuff to go away and they're ready for summer time to come to have the whole summer off.
