Experts say Central New York has some of the best climate conditions for brewing craft beer. Saranac and Ommegang are locally brewed, just to name a few. It’s called MuleSkinner served up in both pale and amber. It's the beginning line of beer made by Erie Canal Brewing Company. The company, founded last year, currently brews 10 barrels a month through a three vessel system. But it's what's in the pot that makes this company even more unique.We visited Bote Pienna Farm that grows hops and barley for the brewery. Cny's cool and damp climate is the best setting for the crops. Once grown they're harvested, boiled and brewed and then finally ready to be enjoyed. The company says their beer has been well received and they plan to add a half a dozen more to their selection list this fall.
