The show "Million Dollar Quartet" wrapped up at the Stanley on Tuesday night. It is the Broadway Theater League's season finale. The group brings shows to the Stanley each and every year that wow the community. Now they're taking time to look back on another successful season.
After their songs end the Broadway Theater League will be one show closer to closing the curtains on this year's season. And after Wednesday, it'll be a wrap.
“It's been a great season overall. We've had wonderful shows this season—‘Memphis,’ ‘We Will Rock You’--we've had a total of three tech shows so it's been just an amazing season for us,” says Courtney Taurisano-Sprague, Broadway Theater League.
Tech shows require more time for construction and bigger crews for computer and lighting work. For long-time Theater League subscribers, it's those shows that really put this season above average.
“They're better shows, they're a higher quality cast, so it's really improved a lot,” says Frank Dubeck, subscriber.
But what would the Broadway Theater League be without their lovely hosts, the Stanley? The groups say it’s their partnership that allows them to bring these awesome shows to our community.
“By teaming up with them we're able to bring something together that we might not normall do. Together we're kind of a super power. We're able to get it done together,” says Nichole Grant, Stanley Theater.
But even though the Stanley curtains close on the Theater League's season on Wednesday, subscribers say they'll keep coming back for season to come.
"As long as I can still walk down the aisle,” says Dubeck.
Don't forget, the final show for the season is on Wednesday night at 7:30. Tickets are still available at the Stanley.
