The countdown continues to Boilermaker Sunday and we're now just five days away. The entire city is in Boilermaker prep mode especially the F.X. Matt Brewing Company.

Preparations are in high gea at the brewery, with just five days to go, crews are busy setting up for the post-race party hanging banners, setting up the stage and of course, filling over 200 kegs of beer.

"We have to start putting up the banners and getting everything ready and of course the beer has to be cold so really this week is kind of allocating all of that beer, making sure everything is set up and the parking lot is looking good and of course we're going to have 40,000 visitors on Sunday morning so there's a lot of prep that goes into it,” says Meghan Fraser, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the F.X. Matt Brewing Company.

In addition to supplying over 200 kegs filled with the Saranac summer seasonal Wild Hop Pils, the F.X. Matt Brewing Company hosts the entire post-race party.

"Even though a lot of it isn't our tents and our food and our water and things like that you know we still have to make sure everybody has a spot and that they're comfortable and of course at the finish line we host a lot of people down there as well,” said Fraser.

They’re not only worried about prepping the parking lot for the post-race party, the Brewery also has to gear up for one of their biggest Saranac Thursdays of the year.

"We have a lot of people visiting from out of town, we have the band Show Time playing, it's always a really good time so we kind of kick things off a little bit early on Thursday night,” says Fraser.

Over 40,000 people, about 30,000 cups and over 200 kegs of beer makes for quite a mess but Fraser says the cleanup crew has their routine down pat.

"Cleanup is pretty unbelievable you know we have volunteers that do all of that cleanup and this parking lot, if you go out to the bar, by the time you come back to get your car or walk through here, everything is gone, it's pretty spectacular,” said Fraser.

Then it's back to business on Monday morning.
