Today, Utica teachers and librarians got together to discuss media literacy and digital citizenship at the Hotel Utica today.

The 28th annual Leatherstocking conference was themed: Common core, Uncommon challenges.

The event focused on how library programs can meet common core standards

The conference also helped teachers enhance the way they teach, using the internet.

“Our goals this year are to have librarians and teachers go back to their districts with usable techniques, ideas of new resources and a desire to collaborate with both library and classroom,” says Patricia Skelly.

It was co-sponsored by a variety of local schools and library programs.
