The line was out the door Monday afternoon at the New Hartford Public Library. People from around the area were lined-up to meet two of the Utica Comets players. Kids of all ages brought t-shirts, hats or just plain paper to have the hockey stars sign. They were also able to take pictures with the Comets and ask them questions. Both fans and the players say it's a great experience to interact.
“It’s really exciting they all have huge smiles on, there’s a big line here waiting for us, so it makes us feel good and it’s nice to interact with them a little bit we don’t get to see them too much being on the ice and stuff so any time we get the chance to do stuff like this it’s a lot of fun,” says Kellan Lain, Center for the Comets.
The comets will be out and about again on Wednesday for the "Skate with the Comets New Year's Day Event." Fans are invited to ring in the New Year and skate with the team at the AUD after their game.
