As well all know it is cold outside. That’s why the Center for Family Life and Recovery is partnering up with the Thea Bowman House for their annual "Bundle up a Buddy" campaign. The winter clothing drive is going on until Friday at noon.
The center is collecting mittens, coats, hats and boots. All items will be donated to the Thea Bowman House in Utica and distributed to people in need of warm winter wear.
"Just today, it's freezing outside, and anybody who has a chance to be able to have a coat and sometimes have a new coat that they couldn't normally get, you just feel good about it and you don't worry about it, parents don't have to worry about their kids going out and getting cold,” said Cassandra Sheets, CEO of the Center for Family Life and Recovery.
"They're so touched by the generosity of the community and more so I think it embeds them within the community so that they feel like they're a part of it and that they're desired and wanted to be here, especially during the holiday season,” says Alyssa Spina, Marketing and Communications Coordinator for the Thea Bowman House.
Again, you have until this Friday at noon to drop off any winter clothing gear at the Center for Family Life and Recovery in Utica.
